Q – What makes BikeSentry® different from other GPS tracking devices I find on the internet?

A – When our co-founder watched his bike being stolen, there wasn’t time to find a computer let alone access the internet. Seconds do count when you are trying to save your bike. So a simple toll free call to our 24/7 nationally certified Call Center really cuts through the red tape.

BikeSentry® also has a sophisticated accelerometer linked to an intelligent microprocessor that sends you an almost instant alert message if your bike is bumped or even moves slightly. We think this beats flashing lights or sirens! Not to mention that it sends that very important FIRST WARNING to your cell phone anywhere in the world to let you know there may be a problem.

If someone is stealing your bike and it continues to move outside of what we call our cone of protection, BikeSentry® then sends you a second warning message and automatically starts recording your bikes location. Again tracking it anywhere in the world. Internet products also have this feature called a “GeoFence” and they will also notify you…but you have to go online EVERY time you want to setup this protection for a specific location. BikeSentry® can activate this feature anytime, anywhere, whenever you arm the unit. And if you want to tow your bike, it can be removed with a click of the keyfob. Then reset when you stop.

Q – How do I know someone else is not tracking me?

A – Unlike the internet-based spouse trackers, our Call Center will only give tracking data to police dispatchers AND only after your authorization. Just like calling your bank, we verify your identity with a series of questions to protect your privacy and your location. We are a Bike Rescue Service not a spouse tracker.

Q – Why do you wait to contact the police?

A – This is a tough question. Our technology could be on the bad guys almost instantly, but since our system is totally silent we know it’s possible that you might forget to UNARM BikeSentry® before taking a ride. That’s why we don’t start tracking when we monitor that first motion detected warning, however we do instantly send you a MOTION DETECTED message. But to protect your bike, we automatically start tracking and recording the moment we see there is a GEOFENCE VIOLATION…but still wait for your authorization to involve the police.

Q – Why do you only sell BikeSentry® through authorized dealerships?

A – After four years of experience and testing, we learned a lot. And the only problems we encountered, were due to unprofessional installations…usually a poor ground or a hot wire connection. We also redesigned BikeSentry® so it doesn’t require cutting into proprietary wiring harnesses or integration into a bikes complex electronics, possibly voiding your warranty.

Q – Is BikeSentry® waterproof?

A – BikeSentry® is totally waterproof and is resistant to hot oil, gas, and can withstand extreme environments (minus 81º F to 275º F).
